San Luis has been in the Valenzuela family for 5 Generations. It lies on top of a mountain the locals refer to as "El Chocolate" which was the orignal name of the property given by the original owner Don Manuel Maria Alvarez. The finca produces both Red Catuai and Bourbon.
Our importer partner Kenny Becerra is also a local Angeleno, born and raised in Echo Park. He works with five different origins across Guatemala including this farm which belongs to his family. Kenny's story is one that we can easily associate with, once he found out that the specialty grade coffees in the five farms were being sold for commodity prices, he took it upon himself to get them more value for their hardwork by bringing their crops to the specialty coffee market.
