ASPROGUATE is an organization that represents more than 1,900 small producers from the regions of Acatenango, San Martin Jilotepeque, Coban and Atitlan. Its purpose is to responsibly transfer benefits to sustainable value chain coffee producers. In this area of Guatemala, the farms represented are majority women owned farms.
A typical example of a farmer represented is Finca La Falada with just a small lot and a milk cow, at an altitude of 1900+ MASL in the mountains of Aldea Patzaj, San Martin Jilotepeque. On two small lots, they grow Caturra, Catuaí and Bourbon varieties.
